Sujata Mohanty, Professor & Principal Investigator - Dr. Mohanty received her Ph.D in Biotechnology from AIIMS year 1996. After which she worked as a Postdoctoral scientist from Mount Sinai Hospital, New York, USA in year 1998. She joined AIIMS as Scientist-II and later became as a Assistant Professor in 2005. Dr. Mohanty have been instrumental in setting up this Stem Cell Facility at AIIMS. After taking the charge of the facility in 2005, she initiated basic research using adult and embryonic stem cells. Adult stem cell sources include bone marrow, umbilical cord, adipose tissue, dental pulp, hair and skin follicles. For better understanding of Stem cell biology and drug discovery, iPSC research was initiated at AIIMS. Currently, she is Professor and Faculty-in-charge of this cGMP facility. This facility was considered for Department of Biotechnology-Centre of Excellence (DBT-CoE), Govt. of India grant to further strengthen the basic, pre- clinical and clinical research. With her team of researchers and students we have successfully established the GOOD MANUFACTURING PRACTICES (GMP) FACILITY, in accordance with ICMR- DBT guidelines (Govt. of India) for Stem Cell Research, to manufacture stem cells of clinical grade for patient use.

Hi, I’m Dr. Suchi Gupta, founder of Tech Cell Innovations Pvt Ltd, which is incubated at CMIE, AIIMS, New Delhi. I’m also a BIRAC BIG Awardee. My research focuses on stem cells and exosomes, especially evaluating how tissue-specific MSCs-derived exosomes can help in treating liver diseases. I completed my PhD in this field and have also explored how exosomes can be used for wound healing and osteoarthritis. Currently, I’m working on developing exosome-based products for future biomedical applications.

Hello! I’m Shivani Dogra, a research scholar at the Stem Cell Facility (SCF), AIIMS, New Delhi. My research focuses on developing a customized 3D-printed tissue-engineered scaffold for tracheal replacement. This scaffold is designed to deliver active mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) to damaged areas, customized for patient-specific translational applications. When I'm not deep in research, you'll find me dancing, exploring new destinations, tending to my garden, or delving into the study of traditional plants.

Hello! I am Dr. Saumya Dash, DBT-BioCARe Women Scientist at the Stem Cell Facility, AIIMS, New Delhi. My current research focuses on designing biocompatible and biodegradable bone implants providing a natural ECM-like environment for MSCs and MSCs-derived EVs for augmented osteogenesis. I aim to develop a product that can fill the shortage of biodegradable orthopedic implants. Besides science, I spent time in Odissi dance and crafting poems in my mother tongue Odia.

My research explores developing a novel bioink formulation that will promote rapid regeneration, aiming for Personalized medicine in wound care. Hi, I am Surbhi Arora, a research scholar at Stem Cell Facility (SCF), AIIMS, New Delhi. The current area of my research focuses on engineered extracellular vesicles with overexpression of cytosolic and membrane-bound proteins, which can target the potent inducers of NLRP3 inflammasome formation and may help alleviate neuroinflammation. Apart from research, one of my big interests is in listening to classical music and playing harmonium.
